Mersea Island is a fantastic holiday getaway for couples, families, groups, the young and the young at heart, with views across the Blackwater Estuary which you can enjoy as you stroll along our private beach and take in the beautiful surroundings!
What we have to offer at Mersea Island
We've got some great things to do here at Mersea Island. Our park facilities are nestled neatly together by the coast and include the Muddy Duck Clubhouse, a kids outdoor play area, small arcade and an indoor swimming pool, all blessed with views of the nature reserve and beach.
We’re adjacent to Cudmore Grove Country Park, a dog walkers paradise as they have so much space to roam freely whilst you take in the fresh sea air. We are a pet friendly park with plenty of space to walk them and offer pet friendly accommodation!

On the park
The Muddy Duck Clubhouse
Drop into the Muddy Duck for the perfect end to a perfect day on holiday. As the sun sets over the fields, gather your group – including the dog – and wander over to enjoy an evening drink and some bar snacks. With a limited pizza menu and BBQs when the sun is out, you can have a night off cooking!
Park Shop
Forgotten an important ingredient or just need some milk for your morning cuppa? Our well-stocked shop located in Guest Services has everything you need plus so much more!

Indoor Pool
Our indoor heated swimming pool has a transparent conservatory-style roof over the top so you can still enjoy the natural beauty you receive of the landscape views!

We have an outdoor play area which is fully equipped with a slide and climbing frame for the little ones to enjoy.

Beach and slipway
The park has its own private beach overlooking the Blackwater Estuary where you can launch your boat or Jet Ski. Adjacent to the park is Cudmore Grove Country Park in East Mersea where there are some beautiful scenic walks to take.

Indoor and outdoor swimming pools are subject to seasonal opening times and pool rules, which must be adhered to by all Guests. Please check with Guest Services upon arrival at the Park for details of opening times during your stay and applicable pool rules. The supervision of children on the Park is the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times, including in swimming pool and changing areas. For swimming, children aged 0-3 years old must be accompanied by a responsible person in the same body of water on a one to one basis. A maximum of two children aged 4-7 years old must be accompanied by a responsible person in the same body of water. Children over 8 years of age who are competent swimmers (can swim unaided 25m or more) can use the pool independently provided there is a lifeguard present. For Parks where the pool is not lifeguarded one responsible person must supervise a maximum of three children aged 8-15 years old in the same body of water.
